Gone are the days when HR was just a support functional role with the usual set tasks of payroll, joining formalities and other administrative roles. In the present scenario, HR has a more vital role to play -as Strategic partners. With changing times, the role of HR has also undergone modifications and truly strategy formulation is one of the key aspects in their function. With the advent of globalization, acquisition and mergers and profit generation, the focus has largely shifted to managing human resources and it is here where the strategic role of the HR manager is desired. There are umpteen reports that reveal that one of the causes of recline in a business is the mis-management of humans- either in terms of pay package, working environment, providing training on just empathizing with them. In fact, the more time one spends on the human, planning and devising their roles, the better are the chances of envisaging a smooth transition if required. And the process will eventually lead to a decision-making partner- which in reality is the need of the hour. So, do you agree with HR roles being slowly transformed into strategic partner?
